Sometimes I Know Who I Am

Future Words

I’m saving my words for you
For a time when they’ll be more than noises
For a time when they’ll mean something
For a time when they’ll matter to someone

I hope I meet you someday
We’ll have a lot to talk about

  1. I could say the same to a man who chooses what he hears and never listens to what I say. You’ve captured so much within so little. More like a mantra than a poem, i’ll keep it close to remind myself that one day…I hope we meet. Great Read.

  2. Thanks. It came to mind because outside of (a) work and other professional contexts and (b) counseling, I haven’t had a conversation that lasted more than 10-15 seconds in the past…two weeks? month? I guess the people around me have too much going on or just don’t want to listen to me anymore so I’ll just wait until I find someone who does. 🙂
